Glow Party Honors Military Kids for Month of the Military Child

Fort Bragg, NC— Bowley Elementary School proudly celebrated the Month of the Military Child with a vibrant and fun-filled Glow Party that illuminated the gymnasium and the spirits of students, teachers, and staff. This event was designed to honor the resilience and strength of military-connected children, bringing together students from Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade for an unforgettable time of dancing, laughter, and celebration.
The highlight of the day was the dazzling display of glow stick necklaces and bracelets that students proudly wore as they danced to carefully selected songs chosen by the Bowley Elementary Student Council. The glow party provided a joyful atmosphere where children could connect with friends, share in the excitement, and experience the positive energy that only music and community can create.
The glow party was made possible thanks to the generous donations from the Bowley PTA, as well as contributions from the school’s Culture and Climate Committee and Social-Emotional Learning Committee. These groups came together to create a space where military-connected children could enjoy themselves and feel appreciated.
Throughout the day, students from every grade level—from the youngest Pre-Kindergarteners to the energetic Fifth Graders—took to the dance floor, glowing with excitement and joy. The gymnasium was filled with an electric atmosphere as the student’s enjoyed music, community, and each other’s company. Teachers and staff joined in the festivities, ensuring that every child had the opportunity to be part of the fun.
The Month of the Military Child is an important time to acknowledge the sacrifices and contributions of military families, especially the children who often face unique challenges as they navigate their lives with a parent or guardian serving in the military. Bowley Elementary School’s Glow Party was just one of many efforts to recognize the importance of these young heroes and their families.
