First Grade Stars Shine Through Reader’s Theater
First grade students are building confidence and fluency through Reader’s Theater, where reading comes to life through performance. By taking on roles and working together, students strengthen their speaking, listening, and teamwork skills while having fun with reading.
Bowley Elementary Students Shine at Marksmen Hockey Game
Bowley Elementary students had an amazing time singing at the Marksmen hockey game on January 24! Thank you to Ms. Estrada and our PTA for making this special experience possible for our Bobcats!
2027 Teacher of the Year Nominations
Mr. Brent L. Cook, DoDEA's 2026 Teacher of the Year, encourages nominations for the 2027 DoDEA Teacher of the Year.
Building Mathematical Confidence Through Hands-On Subtraction
Kindergarten students engaged in hands-on subtraction lessons that emphasized equitable access, conceptual understanding, and student voice. Through the use of manipulatives, visual models, and purposeful instruction, teachers supported all learners while fostering confidence and mathematical growth.

Music in Our Schools Month
DoDEA joins the National Association for Music Education and schools across the nation in celebrating Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM) in March. The purpose of recognizing MIOSM in DoDEA is to highlight and advocate for music programs in our schools.
National Reading Month
DoDEA joins the National Education Association and schools across the nation in celebrating Read Across America on March 2nd and all year long to help motivate kids to read, bring the joys of reading to students of all ages, and make all children feel valued and welcome.

Nominations for the Educator of Promise Award will be accepted February 23 to March 20, 2026.
The Department Announces New Director of DoWEA
The Department is pleased to announce that Mr. Paul Craft will succeed Dr. Beth Schiavino-Narvaez as the Director of the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), effective March 9, 2026.

The College Board announced that 39 Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) high schools have been named to the Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll.
